Magnificent Stairway to the Lake in West Bend, Wisconsin

Building a walkway down this extremely steep slope proved to be a very challenging and creative design. With no access from either the top of the property or roadway, a barge was used to remove all original debris and bring materials and equipment to the site. Removing the old timber and original steep concrete steps was only the beginning. Our smallest excavator balanced on the hillside to carve a new winding stairway into the stone and soil.
Many tons of rock were brought in by barge on Big Cedar Lake to create the new stairway from the house down to the beach. Wildflower seed was added along with several small trees and plantings to beautify this lakeside property.
